Huge alcohol, cash recovered from Salim’s office

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered huge alcohol and cash at the office of Salim Prodhan, an alleged online gambler, in the capital’s Gulshan area.

The elite force is conducting the raid at the office since Monday night hours after arrest of Salim, the chairman of ‘Prodhan Group’, from Dhaka airport.

Mizanur Rahman, ASP Senior Assistant Director (Legal and Media Wing) of RAB, on Tuesday said that a large amount of alcohol and Bangladeshi and foreign currencies were recovered from Salim’s Head Office.

The operation is still underway. The details will be given at the end of the raid, he added.

Salim Prodhan was arrested on Monday morning from a flight of Thai Airways at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital while he was leaving the country to evade arrest.

Sources said that Mohamedan Sporting Club director (in-charge) Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan is a close associate of Salim.
